Tarrant County Water Supply 87MGD Expansion

GAI provided the electrical design for the expansion of the TRA Tarrant County Water Supply Project Plant and Intake Pump Station. GAI provided the electrical study and design and construction phase services. The project consisted of expanding the plant to provide 87MGD capability. The modifications included new flocculation basins, expansion of ozone facilities, modification to filters, addition of non-chlorinated backwash system, additions and modifications to chemical facilities, high service pumping additions, and improving electrical reliability. GAI coordinated the backup feeder to the Water Plant with the power company. To improve power reliability the system is designed to connect a portable generator connection. The electrical system modifications include new switchgear, transformers, underground 15kV feeders and modifications to various connection points in the plant. During the construction phase, GAI was involved in factory test witnessing of major equipment.
